Photo-Induced Dynamics in Correlated Electron Systems with Multiple Degrees of Freedom
S. Ishihara Department of Physics, Tohoku University, JAPAN
In correlated electron system with multiple degrees of freedom, e.g. spin, charge, orbital and lattice, several electronic and structural orders compete with each other. Near the phase boundaries, a drastic phase change is expected to occur by shining light because of a subtle balance of phases and large fluctuation. In this presentation, we introduce recent our theoretical studies in photo-induced ultra-fast dynamics in correlated electron systems with multiple degrees of freedom. In particular, the following two topics will be introduced.
1) Photo-induced spin and charge dynamics in perovskite manganites.
2) Photo-induced spin-state transition in perovskite cobaltites.
